Christmas 2016

After a successful completion of the Jr. Core, and the first practicum semester for Marcie, we enjoyed a nice long break with lots of adventures. We set up our Christmas tree for the first time and drank hot chocolate by the heater. We saw temple lights with Jeff and Melinda Christmas break included lots of games and some puzzles.

Mission Reunion

President and Sister Ware came home from Washington and we had a mission reunion. It was so good to catch up with old friends, companions, and stories especially with Hermana Rohde. We also found out that the Ixchui family was sealed! What a miracle and an answer to so many prayers!

Happy Halloween

Halloween included a Shields party at Aunt Kathy’s home where we ate homemade donuts and watched a BYU basketball game. We dressed up as Arial and Eric. We went over to Jeff and Melinda’s apartment for some cool pumpkin carving. Jeff has had a busy semester in the MBA program, but he took time out of his busy schedule to hang out with us. Despite the baby pumpkin, no we aren't pregnant. :)

BYU Football Games

We've been attending all the football games this season. This was one of the best games we went to because we won in double overtime and the fans rushed the field. GO COUGS!!

Thanksgiving Break

We spent the weekend after Thanksgiving with Jeff and Melinda down in Saint George. Here we enjoyed some Mexican food at Irmitas.

Teaching Kindergarten at Amelia Earhart

Marcie got to return to her practicum classroom as a “mystery reader.” The photo is with a bright little student named Piper.

Jessa and Aldo's Wedding

We attended Aldo and Jessa's sealing and wedding reception. They looked so happy and it was a beautiful wedding! I'm so glad my best friend found someone who makes her so happy! My best friend's wedding! Bridesmaids

Lasik

I got Lasik this summer thanks to my Mom and Dad. Hooray for no contacts or glasses!  My eyesight is better than when I had contacts.

One Year Anniversary

HAPPY FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!! We went to San Diego to Celebrate and we had a blast.  We ate fish tacos along the coast and attended a Major League Baseball game with Scott and Brooke. Go Padres!

New Camera

We bought a new camera from Carly and Doug! We’re ready to start learning photography. Check out my photography stance.

Melinda's Graduation

Melinda graduated from nursing school this week! She showed us where she has spent a lot of her time working on mannequins in the mock hospital set up underneath the SWKT. Then, we went out to eat at Los Hermanos to celebrate. Grant couldn’t make it because he started working at NAV this week and he loves it!

Camping in American Fork

We took a break between semesters and went camping up American Fork Canyon to test out our new tent. We built a fire, ate ‘tin-foil’ dinners, roasted marshmallows and cinnamon rolls, and we even make breakfast burritos in the morning. Good thing for my parents who let us borrow all of their camping gear!    It was cold at night, but warm during our 5 mile hike the next morning. Look at the view of the back of Mt. Timp!

Alyssa's Homecoming

Alyssa also came home from her mission after serving for 9 months, so we met her at the airport and it was so exciting to see her! We missed her coming off the plane, but we arrived soon after.

Marcie's Birthday

We went to Idaho for conference weekend and Mom and Dad celebrated my birthday early by spoiling me with cupcakes, ice cream, enchiladas, new badminton racquets, Christmas decorations, and a new whisk. Plus, as always, they gave us a full tank of gas. We had a great weekend riding bikes, playing risk, and visiting grandma Dexter. My Birthday was awesome! We ate burgers at Red Robin with Jeff, Melinda, Charis and Jessica. Then we went and played Laser tag together. After everyone else went home, Grant and I set up our tent in the living room and had a movie night inside our tent. It was so fun! Grant got me new Nike Tennis shoes and a water bottle for my birthday! Just what I needed!

Family Time in Lehi

We got to hang out with all the siblings and nieces and nephews for a few days and it was awesome! We dyed Easter Eggs, did Easter egg hunts, did egg jousting, watched Cokeville Miracle, and went out to eat. We tried a Thai and Japanese food restaurant. Quinton loves to play outside with his new uncle Grant.

Melinda & Jeff's Wedding

We went to Melinda and Jeff’s wedding at the Salt Lake City Temple this past week. It was a beautiful and perfect wedding! We are so excited to have Jeff in the family! .  The boys looked so handsome in their peach ties

Provo City Center Temple

March 31, 2016-Today we went to the new Provo City Center Temple and did sealings there for the first time. It was beautiful inside and we felt so blessed to be there. Grant’s class was cancelled at the last minute which made it possible for us to go. We haven’t been able to go every week like we used to, but we feel blessed when our schedule opens up so we can go. We were able to finish a lot of family file names on both sides of the family. Some my dad researched, but many of them we were able to find. I think we are right on track to keep our end of year goal to find forty names this year and do the temple work as a family. Here is us from a few months earlier, we went to the open house with Mom, Dad and Eliza Boone.
